Everything you need to know
Who is running this survey?
- AIWI is an independent nonprofit advancing employee protections in AI, working with regulators around the globe including EU AI Office, building a coalition to oppose preemption in AI Law, and been featured in The Information and Transformer New
- This survey was developed in collaboration with Coventry University, whose ethics board has approved its structure and questions
Why are you conducting this survey?
We use these results for internal strategy and ecosystem research. We do not compare or rank companies. Therefore, making your employer look “better” or “worse” does not help or hurt your employer. We are looking to:
- Understand the AI concern and disclosure ecosystem
- Analyze how risk is currently managed and experienced
- Scale solutions across Frontier labs to make the ecosystem safer
What are you going to do with the data?
- AIWI will be publishing a report
- Aim to leverage the findings to guide AIWI’s impactful work in the ecosystem
Who can participate?
- Any employee across the AI Frontier Labs (GDM, OpenAI, MicrosoftAI, xAI, Anthropic & META)
If the survey is anonymous, how will you validate that respondents are actually AI lab employees?
- Verified Entry Points: given specific recruitment strategies, we will be able to get a first read on the validity of users’ identity and organizational affiliation
- Behavioral Analysis: We monitor metadata on survey completion and inconsistent navigation patterns
- Cognitive Validation: The survey includes “trivial” industry-specific questions details only someone working within these specific organizational structures would know to filter out external noise
- Anomaly Detection: Once data is collected, we run a “clean-up” scan to identify and remove conflicting data points that suggest bad-faith participation
What sort of questions will you ask?
- Awareness around concerns that could be raised
- Barriers to speaking up
- How concerns are evaluated
- Disclosure channels
Do I have to share which company I work for?
- All questions are optional to answer. However, the more detail you provide, the more accurate the picture we will be able to build about what is going in the industry vs what is required to improve it
